This isn’t what I was expecting at all. I wasn’t expecting the perspective to flip back and forth. I wasn’t expecting so many different branches of magic. I wasn’t expecting to not like this one as much as I did.
I expected to fall in love with this story. I expected to rave about it from the treetops. I wish I could rave about this one from the treetops! I just can’t., because it wouldn’t be honest of me. I can’t because I honestly wasn’t the biggest fan. The characters were okay, I just found myself not really caring about any of them. I found myself not really caring what happened at all.
This book follows our main character, Tea as she’s found out to be one of the most feared witches around. That sounds like a really, really cool premise! And I can still imagine myself falling in love with this book. The book switches between past and present, and every time it does, it throws me through a loop. I fall out of sync with the book and I have to find my groove again. But it happens every time.
For some, this book will be astounding. For others, like me, it just won’t meet the mark.
