What a marvellous and fun ride!
Follow the poweless Abby Hamilton as she lives her life under the wings of her superhero older brother. Not that anyone really knows that her brother is the superhero all the girls can’t help but sigh and dream over.
Used to shining the second brightest in her family, she understands that sometimes her Dad and her brother can get a little busy. So what happens when she stumbles across the supervillain and she can’t help but believe that he’s not everything that the media is making him out to be.
This book really felt like a Marvel movie. It had action and humour and kept me entertained for the entire way through. However, unlike a Marvel movie, there were just some holes in the realism that I can’t really move past. They’re easy enough to ignore when reading the book, and it’s pretty easy to pretend they never existed in the first place when you finally finish that last page. It’s just that I wish I could have given this number five stars instead of four.
If you choose to pick this one up, do not expect a serious story. Don’t expect it to tackle serious themes or to give you some miraculous meaning to life. This is simply just a fun, entertaining and heartfelt read that will help you relax and even make you smile. It’s something you can sit down with and enjoy as the monotonous reality of life drifts by.
