‘I said no’
This novel follows a teenage girl following the aftermath of an assault. Did it happen? Will people believe her if she speaks up? What difference will that make?
What an incredibly important story. I can’t express how much I absolutely adored reading the graphic novel of this. It reach through the pages, grabbed me by the shirt, and pulled me in. What I think made it so important for me, was that I could relate to her mentality. The way she thought and did things. Her reasoning for keeping the truth to herself and then doubting the decision, the way she decides to stop talking all together instead of finding a better solution. I get that, because I’ve had those exact thoughts before.
I honeslty don’t think I have a whole lot to say except that this was incredible. It covers extremely important topics, and absolutely deserves to be read by everyone and anyone that can stomach this topic.
