Rayne and Delilah’s Midnite Matinee is the quirky and hilarious tale of two girls that run a midnight talk show called ‘Midnite Matinee’. It dives into real issues about what comes after high school, how not all teenagers get the same, easy start, and how growing up means living apart but not necessarily growing apart.

This story really gripped me by the heart and tugged me along. I was expecting a roadtrip, and pages filled with laughter. I admit, I got both, but not how I expected. The good times were accompanied with hard times. It made me cry (sob like a baby), but it also inflated my heart. I was surprised I didn’t float about the room!

I admit, that at first, I wasn’t the biggest fan. I thought it might go in either a really weird direction, or a really boring one, but it was incredible. It exceeded all of my expectations, and more. I’m particularly a fan of the end, but I can’t speak more on that. Just know that if you choose to pick this number up, I had a really good time in this world, and I expect that you will too.

The break down of my rating:
Characterisation: 8/10
Style & Tone: 8/10
Enjoyment Factor: 9/10
