The hot topic of all writers this month is the infamous, National Novel Writing Month. It’s this scary notion that you have to write an upward of 50,000 words in the span of 30 days in order to complete a novel. It’s a crazy short period of time and I just wanted to let ya’ll know that hell to the yeah I’m participating!
If you’re unaware, I’ve been writing a novel for way too long now. Recently, I finished the first draft but I found it to be that crumby, that I’m taking a second shot at it. I’m using NaNoWriMo as the time to have my second shot. Let it be known that my novel is definitely without a shaodw of a doubt, longer than 50,000 words. I don’t have high hopes of finishing it this month. I do, however, wish to complete the second first draft by the end of the year.
High hoping? Maybe. But I do love a good challenge, you know? And I mean, if you want to follow my daily tweets updating ya’ll on how my writing is going, clicky write here. (Get it? Right/write. Boom, boom, tsssch. Man, I crack myself up!)
As of today, the 8th of November, I’ve smashed out a good number of words. I’ve exceeded the recommended words per day, which I’m holding onto with high hopes. I don’t want to fall beneath the treacherous line! I’m hoping to be nearing the end of draft uno 2.0 by the end of the month, with the intention of having it completed before Christmas.
Here’s to hoping!
