Goodreads Description:
Feyre’s survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price …
Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre’s presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

ACOTAR will always be a MASSIVE favourite of mine. It could possibly be because I love SJM as an author and probably will fall in love with any and every book she writes. Fantasy? Duh! Sci-Fi? Absolutely. Contemporary? I’m there! Self Development? Why not? I bet it’s good! The point is, I’m a freaking sucker when it comes to SJM. Especially if she caught a return flight to Australia so she could sign all of my books… please and thank you? 😛

In saying this, by no means will I judge her any different to any other author. I just have to point out that I do think she’s fabulous. I’m not trying to hide that. I think you get that point by now anyway… MOVING ON!

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a wonderful fantasy novel that’s packed to the brim with action, adventure, death, nightmares and a shit-ton of foreshadowing! Yay! It is more of a romantic fantasy, which means it does focus more on the romance elements of the story rather than the boom, bam of fighting and shizz. This book contains the love element mostly because it centres around a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ theme. A very unique and fun take on a classical tale.

Another thing I love: A good twist on a classic tale.

I found the plotting and the narrative of this story to be simply impeccable. My favourite part about SJM’s writing is her ability to not only foreshadow incredibly well but the writing. Her ability to construct a story is incredible and I want to know how she does it! Gosh darn it!

I kept wishing I could dive into this mystical land and venture throughout. Perhaps not during the heart of this story. Maybe when everything is all peachy again and my death isn’t a 99.99% possibility. I would love to meet Feyre and Lucien. My two favourite characters!

ACOTAR pulled me from reality and took me on this spectacular adventure. I kept craving more, more, MORE!! I felt a little bit like an addict! Whenever I read this book, I get stuck. I can’t get out, I have to read them all one after another. It’s a real problem! 😛

I honestly can’t think of a fault at this point. I’m trying to squeeze my dislikes out of my brain to no avail. Feyre was a bit of an idiot at one point? Does that count? Not as much action happened in the beginning and I wish there was more? That sounds like a solid negative comment. Go me!

Why am I fishing for bad? Because it takes a lot for a book to be perfect, plus I don’t want to hide a flaw if I think there is one. There wasn’t much happening at the beginning, yet it was still interesting to me. I was still very much engaged.

It will come to no surprise that I 100% recommend reading this fan-tabulous novel! Please tell me what you think!

The break down of my rating:
Plot: 9/10
Characterisation: 10/10
Style & Tone: 10/10
Enjoyment Factor: 9/10
